ETA's employees ratchet up demands for regular monthly bonuses

In response to the outstanding spike in tax revenues in the first five months of fiscal year 2018/2019, employees at the Egyptian Tax Authority ratcheted up  demands for regular monthly bonuses. 
Employees posted  quotes on their facebook accounts borrowed from Al-Mal newspaper's report published last Thursday announcing that tax revenues have increased during the first five months of fiscal year 2018/2019 by EGP47bn to EGP250bn up from EGP203.9bn  five months earlier.
" The regular monthly bonuses are the only thing that can compensate them for the efforts they are exerting in ramping up the tax revenues," said they. 
Sales tax revenues jumped by 20.9 percent to EGP130.0bn during the first five months of FY2018-2019 up from the same period earlier. 
Also, salary  and Suez Canal tax revenues rose by EGP5.4bn and EGP36.5bn to EGP19.4bn and EGP14.5bn respectively. 
Taxes collected from companies and the General Petroleum Corporation rose by EGP5.8bn and EGP2bn to EGP22.6bn and EGP11.4bn respectively.
