McDonald's Egypt to invest EGP 250mn

McDonald's Egypt is implementing a 5-year-expansion-plan, and the first phase will start during the current year with investments of EGP 250mn representing self-financing, according to the chairman of McDonald's Egypt Alaa Fathy.
Fathy told Al-Mal newspaper that the first phase includes establishing 13 new branches in major governorates such as Cairo and Alexandria and developing 7 branches, scheduled to be finished this year, in these provinces.
He explained that McDonald's has 113 branches located in 25 governorates, in addition to the abovementioned branches, adding that his company made investments of EGP 170mn in 2018.
Fathy pointed out that his company achieved a growth rate of over 25% compared with 2018, and the same percentage in profit, adding that there is an expectation to increase it over the coming period.
