Delegation of the Egyptian Federation for Construction and Building Contractors is set to travel to Mauritius next February in order to seal up to EGP36bn deals in areas of  infrastructure and housing, chairman of EFCBC Eng. Hasan Abd El-Aziz said.

The upcoming visit is fulfilling an invitation sent previously by Mauritius officials to  the Egyptian Ministerial Cabinet.

Alongside Mauritius, a contractors delegation is scheduled to travel to Tanzania mid-February to discuss cooperation opportunities also in response to a similar invitation, reflecting the African countries' eagerness to rely on the Egyptian expertise.

"By next March or April, statute of tenders and bids law is slated to be ratified, reviving hopes of resolving stalemate hamstringing contractors," said he.

Recently, EFCBC complained to Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbuly about the late payment of compensations due to be disbursed to contracting companies by several governmental agencies  such as  the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company, Ministry of Irrigation and the General Authority of Educational Buildings, he added.
