By Bedour Ibrahim:
Egypt’s Housing and Urban Communities Ministry signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) yesterday with Reed MIDEM, the French firm promoting the annual real estate exhibition MIPIM held in Cannes of France.
The MoU was signed by Egyptian deputy housing minister for national projects Khaled Abbas and marketing director of Reed MIDEM Arnaud Bouzinac.
Under the memorandum, the ministry of housing shall participate in the property show for 5 years.
Sources told the Cairo-based economic daily Al-Mal that it was agreed that the ministry would obtain 300 Sq. meter pavilion at the exhibition to be launched in March with the participation of about 8 Egyptian companies.
The Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouli will select the Egyptian firms wishing to be present at the housing ministry’s pavilion according to certain criteria that ensure the presence of large serious companies with strong profiles, which offer exportable distinguished products that meet the foreign customers’ needs, the sources said.
For participating companies, the cost of exhibition will not be less than EUR 2000 per sq. meter including infrastructure, the sources expect.
Over the coming weeks, meetings will be held, and invitations will be extended to investors and firms wishing to take part in the international event, the sources said.
