Board of Ahly Sporting Club chaired by Mahmoud El-Khateeb decided in a Saturday meeting to boycott Arab competitions, citing the repetitive abuses that president of the Arab Federation Turky Al-Sheikh perpetrated against Ahly President, board members and fans.

While affirming that rules of the the Confederation of African Football are governing its relations with EFA, Ahly decided to stay away from any official or cordial meetings of the Egyptian Football Association.

" EFA has reneged on  decrees of the Egyptian Olympic  Committee and CAF  when it allowed the legally-suspended president of Zamalek Sporting Club to attend the official  meeting of EFA board and failed to take drastic stance on abuses committed by Zamalek President towards Ahly representative during the latest EFA meeting," Ahly statement read.

Ahly said it can never acknowledge decisions issued by EFA during the meeting which became null and void following the attendance of the legally-suspended President of Zamalek.

Ahly flatly renounced any adjustments that were proposed by Zamalek and Pyramids FC to schedule of the Egyptian Premier League, noting that Ahly never asked for any exemptions although it plays a match every 72 hours and risks losing the efforts of its players owing to injuries.
