Britain uncovers £ 13mn funding to back Egypt through WB

The United Kingdom has announced a £ 13 million funding for Egypt through the World Bank, in a move that would extend a £ 15 million technical assistance program to another four years and, a British embassy statement said.

 This program shall, through strong cooperation with the Egyptian ministries, foster macroeconomic stability, enhance economic opportunities, encourage investment in Egypt, and aim to promote inclusive economic growth.

The UK’s Minister for Middle East, North Africa Affairs and International Development, Dr Andrew Morrison, commented

 “Egypt is of great importance to the UK, and I am pleased to announce the extension of our excellent program with the World Bank.  Given the long-term commercial partnership between the two countries, the extension reflects our commitment to supporting Egypt by implementing successful reforms and building a strong economy, " the UK’s Minister for Middle East, North Africa Affairs and International Development, Dr Andrew Morrison stated.

 On his part, Egypt’s British Ambassador Jeffrey Adamssaid: “Our cooperation with Egypt is continuously growing. This program will renew our commitment to investing in Egypt's future so as to support development priorities".
