Egypt achieves self-sufficiency in natural gas

The Ministry of Petroleum Director General, Hamdi Abdulaziz, said in statements to "Al Mal", that Egypt has already achieved “self-sufficiency”  in the production of gas after Zohr had been operational as well as increased production from the field to 2 billion cubic feet per day.

The production of natural gas reached 6.6 billion cubic feet per day this month. Egypt's natural gas production continued to rise, reaching 3.873 million tons in July, compared to 5.26 billion cubic feet of 2017, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), recording an increase to 1.2 billion cubic feet per day.
