Banque Misr considers converting its historical headquarters in Cairo, and assigning it for executive management and serving major customers in order to preserve its archeological and historical value.
The chairman of Banque Misr Mohamed Al-Etriby told Al Mal newspaper that the headquarters was launched in 1923 during the brilliant economist Talaat Harb’s time, and serves as a museum containing his collections.
In its effort to maintain the headquarters and Talaat Harb’s collections, the management is exploring assigning the upper floor for administrative departments at the bank, and assigning the first floor for serving major customers.
It should be recalled that a major customer is the one having an account with over EGP 2mn balance.
Banque Misr is the most widespread in the local market. It has 630 branches nationwide.
The bank plans to increase the number of its branches to 875 over the coming years.
